  • 250 g (2 cups) All-Purpose Flour
  • 50 g (¼ cup) Granulated Sugar
  • 10 g (2 tsp) Baking Powder
  • 3 g (½ tsp) Coarse Salt
  • 1 g (½ tsp) Cinnamon (ground)
  • 184 g (¾ cup) Milk
  • 50 g (1 Egg) Eggs
  • 14 g (⅛ stick OR 1 tbsp) Butter, melted and cooled
  • 110 g (1 cup) Diced Apple, peeled and diced
  • 872 g (4 cups) Vegetable Oil, for frying
  • 180 g (1½ cups) Powdered Sugar
  • 31 g (2 tbsp) Milk, for glaze
  • 2 g (½ tsp) Vanilla Extract
  1. 1
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  2. 2
In a separate bowl, beat the egg with ¾ cup milk and the melted butter until smooth.
  3. 3
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined—do not overmix.
  4. 4
Fold in the diced apple pieces until evenly distributed.
  5. 5
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet or heavy pot over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  6. 6
Carefully drop heaping spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, working in batches to avoid crowding. Fry for per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. 7
Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fritters to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  8. 8
While the fritters cool slightly, whisk together the powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl until a smooth glaze forms.
  9. 9
Dip each warm fritter into the glaze or drizzle the glaze over the top, then set aside on a wire rack for the glaze to set.
  10. 10
    Serve warm and enjoy!
